  1. If you are in charge of hiring at your Wirral organisation, now is the time to consider recruiting an apprentice. If your firm is involved in upholstering, crafting, repairing or distributing furniture, the NLTG is ready and able to supply your company with a fresh and quick-to-learn Furniture Occupations apprentice who can help you boost your productivity the moment they start work. Recruiting a Level 2 or 3 Furniture Occupations apprentice is a strategic way for your company to add value instantly to it’s operations, whilst acquiring a talented and devoted set of helping hands around the workplace. Whether you’re part of a company that is growing, or whether your firm is brand new, an eager and dedicated apprentice recruit can have a positive effect on helping your firm achieve its productivity goals.
  2. Our NLTG apprentices are career-focused and ambitious trainees who understand the invaluable role of hands-on learning in helping them succeed and establish a professional career, meaning that your company won’t need to re-train or vet candidates from outside the field. When your organisation hires an NLTG Furniture Occupations apprentice, it is gaining a driven secondary school graduate who is hungry to start gaining furniture and interiors experience by taking on furniture occupations-related tasks, immediately. In a very small amount of time, your firm will start to notice the growth in its efficiency!

In terms of cost-savings, hiring a Furniture Occupations apprentice for your Wirral company can help your firm cut down on travel and recruiting costs. Regarding travel costs, your new Furniture Occupations apprentice will train within your existing workplace. This assists your firm by eliminating the need to consider travel expenses entirely. Additionally, Wirral businesses are often entitled to government funding for the cost of training their new Furniture Occupations apprentices. And, what’s more, it’s often the case that organisations in the Wirral region receive a £1,000 financial incentive for each Furniture Occupations apprentice they take on board.

Hiring is also a cheaper process if your organisation takes the apprenticeship route, rather than following the conventional method of advertising vacancies, carrying out reference checks and interviewing candidate after candidate. All of our NLTG apprentices meet the group’s English and Maths criteria, so that you or your HR Department can save time on background screening- or from hiring a potentially mismatched candidate. During their apprenticeship with your Wirral firm, your Furniture Occupations apprentice will also train in how to manufacture furniture at the NLTG Centre of Vocational Excellence. This assists them in further developing and consolidating the furniture occupations skills which they will be learning at your organisation.

Alongside our talented and dedicated Furniture Occupations apprentices, the NLTG is also providing organisations in the Wirral region with a range of skilled apprenticeships that cater to a variety of business areas. The full list of training and apprenticeships provided by the NLTG training covers industries extending to: Business Administration,  Business Improvement Techniques, Retail, Glass Occupations, Information Technology, Customer Services, Catering and Hospitality, Warehouse and Logistics, Team Leading and Management and General Manufacturing.

Apprentices are employees of your company, with the same rights and responsibilities as any other employee.

If you employ an apprentice aged under 18, the law states that they must not work more than 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.  They are also entitled to paid holidays and rest breaks of at least 30 minutes if their shift lasts more than four and half hours.
