Government Apprenticeship Incentives

Are you an employer looking to get back to business? If so, why not enhance your workforce through Apprenticeships and Traineeships? With the release of the new Government incentives, now is the perfect time!

Employ a new 16-18 year old apprentice and receive:

  • • £3,000 for each new apprentice (ie the new £2,000 incentive plus the existing £1,000 incentive!)

In addition, the Government will also pay:
• 100% of the training costs for new apprentices* recruited by small employers (ie with 49 or fewer employees).

• 95% of the training costs for new apprentices recruited by employers with over 50 employees who do not pay the Apprenticeship Levy.

*Also applies to apprentices aged 19-24 who are care leavers or have an Education, Health & Care Plan.

If you take on a 16-18 year old Traineeship learner with NLTG, you will receive a £1,000 Government incentive payment per trainee. Trainees who progress to an Apprenticeship will also be eligible for the new incentives.


Employ a new 19-24 year old apprentice and receive:

• £2,000 for each new apprentice.

In addition, the Government will also pay:
• 95% of the training costs for new apprentices recruited by employers who do not pay the Apprenticeship Levy.


Employ a new 25+ year old apprentice and receive:

• £1,500 for each new apprentice.

In addition, the Government will also pay:
• 95% of the training costs for new apprentices recruited by employers who do not pay the Apprenticeship Levy.


 

Apprenticeship incentives are available for new starts from 1st August 2020 to 31st January 2021. Don’t miss out!
