NLTG can help you hire a Business Improvement Techniques Apprentice in Huddersfield

UK companies are finding it increasingly more difficult to find and recruit quality talent, with a shrinking labour market making the search much tougher than it once was. An apprentice can be a cost-effective, highly valuable new addition to your firm, helping you plug any skills gaps you may be facing with the minimum fuss possible. At NLTG, we help you hire a Business Improvement Techniques Apprentice in Huddersfield if your company is looking to grow without all the fuss of a strenuous talent search.

Business Improvement Techniques Apprentices learn the knowledge and skills necessary to plan, improve, and implement efficient business procedures. They can help your company spot and reduce waste in its process – whether that be duplicated effort or simply an outdated system. Through on-the-job training inside your Huddersfield company, they gain competencies and experience that makes them highly valuable team leaders, supervisors, and quality leaders.

Hiring an apprentice to learn these valuable techniques within your firm can also help your company long into the future. As our Employer Case Studies show, NLTG apprentices are often very dedicated and loyal to their training organisations. With their new skills and expertise, they often show great longer-term potential, opening up many new internal hiring advantages for your company.

Apprentices are highly strategic new hires and have great potential to be long-term employees. By hiring and developing your own apprentice, your Huddersfield company can ensure your business has the specific skills it will need to deal with change in the future. Companies which onboard fresh apprentices not only benefit from new talent, but they also receive funding to help them manage the cost of doing so. This is especially important for companies in today’s market because training outside talent can be costly. When you hire a Business Improvement Techniques Apprentice in Huddersfield who is 16 – 18 years old, in contrast, your Huddersfield company is eligible to receive £1,000 worth of funding from the UK government.

As well as being affordable employees, apprentices also tend to be rapid learners who fit easily into an existing corporate culture. Helping an apprentice develop and learn is often highly engaging for existing team members, who typically embrace the chance to practice their mentoring abilities! Overall, companies which hire apprentices frequently enjoy higher morale, commitment, and reduced staff turnover, making them a great place to be.

We’re always ready to help you discover new talent and at NLTG, that means we can support your search for a Glass Occupations, Warehouse and Logistics, Information Technology, Customer Service, Business Administration, Retail, Manufacturing, Furniture Occupations, Team Leading and Management, IT, or Catering and Hospitality apprentice. • Apprentices will be trained to understand how your industry works, helping to ensure your future workforce is exactly the way you want it to be. They can generate new ideas and creativity to expand your business and are a cost-effective way of achieving a return on investment.

What training do I need to provide?

You will need to train a new apprentice in their job role and provide them with a mentor, as you would with any new member of staff.  The apprentice however, may need a little more support, especially if they have not worked in your industry before or are learning a new role.

We will visit your premises every 4 to 6 weeks to help with the training and guide your apprentice through their programme.

How much does it cost to employ an apprentice?

Apprentices are employees of your company and you are responsible for paying your apprentice’s wage.  You must pay at least the Apprenticeship minimum wage and can find out more by clicking here.  The Apprenticeship minimum wage relates to apprentices aged 16 to 18, or aged 19 and above in the first year of their Apprenticeship.

For apprentices aged under 25, you may not need to pay National Insurance contributions during their training.  Find out more by clicking here.

What days and hours do apprentices work?

Apprentices are employees of your company, with the same rights and responsibilities as any other employee.

As such, you will decide the days and hours you would like apprentices to work (which must be at least 30 hours per week), their rest breaks and paid holiday entitlement etc, in line with Employment Law and the Working Hours Directive.

If you employ an apprentice aged under 18, the law states that they must not work more than 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.  They are also entitled to paid holidays and rest breaks of at least 30 minutes if their shift lasts more than four and half hours.

How are disciplinary procedures handled?

They are handled like any other employee’s, but NLTG are on hand to provide help and support if you feel it is necessary.

What funding and grants are available?

If your apprentice is aged:

• 16-18; or

• 19-24 and is a care leaver or has a Local Authority Education, Health & Care Plan
