Greater Manchester

If you are part of a Greater Manchester organisation that works online, you’ll know how important well-functioning technology is to creating value! It’s especially true as increasingly more consumers go digital, and companies need to help their clients in new and improved ways. For any company in the region that wants to enhance its online systems, it is now much more cost-effective to hire the help you need to make that happen, under the government’s increased incentives for employers hiring an I.T and Digital Marketing apprentice in Greater Manchester

Effective only for a limited period, the UK Government has recently announced an extension to the increased apprentice hiring incentives that it offers to all eligible firms that hire a new apprentice. This makes it possible for Information Technology firms, digital marketing businesses, and other relevant employers to receive a considerably larger financial payment for each new apprentice that they hire. Only available until the 30th of September, these bigger payments have entitled eligible employers to collect as much as £3,000 in extra support simply for hiring a new, 16-18-year-old apprentice in the sector.

The increased incentives for employers hiring an I.T and Digital Marketing Apprentice in Greater Manchester are a brilliant opportunity to recruit much-needed staff to fill skills gaps in specific areas, and train new staff to take on new roles that have become necessary as the digital landscape has changed. Across Greater Manchester, they have allowed many tech companies, remote-working organisations, and firms in all sectors to reinvest in their businesses and get the new year off to a flying start.

If your firm is eligible for the larger, direct financial payments, depending on its size and the age of the new apprentice you employ, NLTG can help you secure the full hiring an I.T and Digital Marketing Apprentice in Greater Manchester that you are entitled to. We have helped companies to apply for and benefit from as much as £4,000 in apprenticeship bonuses (the original £1000 plus £3,000!) simply for hiring a new 16-18-year-old apprentice that they already required, allowing them to grow their firms for the future. We have also helped eligible companies to enjoy the full 95-100% of apprenticeship training reimbursements that eligible applicants are also entitled to receive, helping them recoup the costs of developing their new staff.

Because they are only available for a brief, limited time, the increased apprenticeship incentives are a very important strategic opportunity for companies that are looking to expand in 2021. Whether your firm requires a helpful Digital Marketer to help you promote your services, or a keen-eyed Digital Support Technician to help your remote work setup run smoothly, we offer a range of flexible pathways that can help you source the right talent.

Our apprenticeships give you full decision-making power regarding how you want to develop your employee, and the specific skill sets you want them to acquire, so you’re in complete control of where you take your organisation this year. If this all sounds good, but you’d like to grow your firm in another area, make sure to look into NLTG’s Glass Occupations, Business Improvement Techniques, Furniture Occupations, General Manufacturing, Customer Service, Catering and Hospitality, Team Leading and Management, Business Administration, and Retail apprenticeship programmes. The increased incentives for employers hiring an I.T and Digital Marketing apprentice in Greater Manchester also apply to our other professionally-designed apprenticeship pathways, so make sure your company doesn’t miss out!

• reduced staff turnover.

  • Apprentices will be trained to understand how your industry works, helping to ensure your future workforce is exactly the way you want it to be. They can generate new ideas and creativity to expand your business and are a cost-effective way of achieving a return on investment.

What training do I need to provide?

You will need to train a new apprentice in their job role and provide them with a mentor, as you would with any new member of staff.  The apprentice however, may need a little more support, especially if they have not worked in your industry before or are learning a new role.

We will visit your premises every 4 to 6 weeks to help with the training and guide your apprentice through their programme.

How much does it cost to employ an apprentice?

Apprentices are employees of your company and you are responsible for paying your apprentice’s wage.  You must pay at least the Apprenticeship minimum wage and can find out more by clicking here.  The Apprenticeship minimum wage relates to apprentices aged 16 to 18, or aged 19 and above in the first year of their Apprenticeship.

For apprentices aged under 25, you may not need to pay National Insurance contributions during their training.  Find out more by clicking here.

What days and hours do apprentices work?

Apprentices are employees of your company, with the same rights and responsibilities as any other employee.

As such, you will decide the days and hours you would like apprentices to work (which must be at least 30 hours per week), their rest breaks and paid holiday entitlement etc, in line with Employment Law and the Working Hours Directive.

If you employ an apprentice aged under 18, the law states that they must not work more than 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.  They are also entitled to paid holidays and rest breaks of at least 30 minutes if their shift lasts more than four and half hours.

How are disciplinary procedures handled?

They are handled like any other employee’s, but NLTG are on hand to provide help and support if you feel it is necessary.

If your apprentice is aged:

• 16-18; or

• 19-24 and is a care leaver or has a Local Authority Education, Health & Care Plan

… you’ll receive a £1,000 incentive payment for each apprentice.

Payments will be made in two equal instalments; the first once the apprentice has been on programme for 3 months and the second after the apprentice has been on programme for 12 months.  (It may take up to 9 weeks after the incentive payment dates for funds to be processed and transferred).
