NLTG can help you hire a Business Improvement Techniques apprentice in Manchester

      1. Have you ever considered the efficiency and productivity gains that your business might enjoy if certain every day processes were improved just a little bit? Using invoicing as an example, many UK businesses no longer write paper invoices and store them as hard copies. Instead, time and energy is saved when this procedure can be replaced with the use of an online template and email. In terms of “the way things are done around here”, it’s not unusual for businesses to become stuck in a rut, failing to realise the profitability benefits that could be achieved by applying some simple techniques.
      2. It’s often the case that even the most successful Manchester businesses are able to improve their workplace systems and processes. NLTG provides Manchester companies with Business Improvement Techniques apprentices who are able to assist your firm by providing a helpful hand around the place whilst training in how to enhance or streamline current business practices. Our Level 2 Business Improvement Techniques apprentices are very often a great source of fresh, new ideas that can be invaluable to your business in terms of upgrading the structure of your daily workflow. Fortunately, it’s no longer a commonly espoused myth that apprentices are secondary school graduates without the marks for traditional higher education. In reality, UK apprentice recruits are very much capable and talented trainees who pursue the apprenticeship route out of a desire to acquire real workplace skills. On-the-job apprenticeship training also offers these recruits a career-centred approach to gaining valuable work experience while they pursue their Diplomas in Business Improvement Techniques. As such, they’re frequently highly ambitious, quick-to-learn and eager to add value to your Manchester business.

As well as this, a Business Improvement Techniques apprentice is often a fitting way to hire an adaptable employee who is easily trained in the exact approach that your company adopts to succeed. When recruiting an apprentice, it’s possible to pass on the precise and unique facets of how your firm operates, rather than inducting an external candidate who must ‘unlearn’ old techniques. More often than not, NLTG apprentices are fiercely loyal to the organisations which train them, and together with this ability to be trained flexibly, are often found in more qualified positions within their training employer’s business later down the line.

Recruiting a Business Improvement Techniques apprentice doesn’t only improve your bottom line through reduced turnover and increased business efficacy. In the majority of instances, Manchester firms also find that they are entitled to government funding when it comes to the cost of training new apprentices. Even better, each Business Improvement Techniques apprentice that your Manchester organisation takes on board will also earn your company £1,000!

Because the vast majority of NLTG apprentices are trained at your Manchester place of work, choosing the apprenticeship pathway for recruiting is a good way to cut down on the costs of commuting and travel. As well as our excellent Business Improvement Techniques apprentices, NLTG is able to furnish your Manchester business with a wide range of apprentices in the fields of: Catering and Hospitality, Customer Service, Retail, General Manufacturing, Furniture Occupations, Business Administration, Glass Occupations, Information Technology, Team Leading and Management, and Warehouse and Logistics. How will employing an apprentice benefit my company?

Employing an Apprentice can bring numerous benefits to your business including:

• increased productivity.

• increased employee satisfaction.

  • Apprentices will be trained to understand how your industry works, helping to ensure your future workforce is exactly the way you want it to be. They can generate new ideas and creativity to expand your business and are a cost-effective way of achieving a return on investment.

What training do I need to provide?

You will need to train a new apprentice in their job role and provide them with a mentor, as you would with any new member of staff.  The apprentice however, may need a little more support, especially if they have not worked in your industry before or are learning a new role.

We will visit your premises every 4 to 6 weeks to help with the training and guide your apprentice through their programme.

How much does it cost to employ an apprentice?

Apprentices are employees of your company and you are responsible for paying your apprentice’s wage.  You must pay at least the Apprenticeship minimum wage and can find out more by clicking here.  The Apprenticeship minimum wage relates to apprentices aged 16 to 18, or aged 19 and above in the first year of their Apprenticeship.

For apprentices aged under 25, you may not need to pay National Insurance contributions during their training.  Find out more by clicking here.

What days and hours do apprentices work?

Apprentices are employees of your company, with the same rights and responsibilities as any other employee.

As such, you will decide the days and hours you would like apprentices to work (which must be at least 30 hours per week), their rest breaks and paid holiday entitlement etc, in line with Employment Law and the Working Hours Directive.

If you employ an apprentice aged under 18, the law states that they must not work more than 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week.  They are also entitled to paid holidays and rest breaks of at least 30 minutes if their shift lasts more than four and half hours.

How are disciplinary procedures handled?

They are handled like any other employee’s, but NLTG are on hand to provide help and support if you feel it is necessary.

What funding and grants are available?

If your apprentice is aged:

• 16-18; or

• 19-24 and is a care leaver or has a Local Authority Education, Health & Care Plan

… you’ll receive a £1,000 incentive payment for each apprentice.

Payments will be made in two equal instalments; the first once the apprentice has been on programme for 3 months and the second after the apprentice has been on programme for 12 months.  (It may take up to 9 weeks after the incentive payment dates for funds to be processed and transferred).

Grants may also be available but the availability and requirements for these change on a regular basis so you are best speaking to us for up-to-date information.
