Description

•The successful apprentice will be expected to perform general furniture manufacturing duties
•Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce quality parts
•Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, wooden properties, layout, and machining procedures.
•Provide support and assistance to the Production Manager as required
•Supporting furniture manufacturing operations, which include both machining and assembly
•Planning of daily activities
•Measuring and cutting
•Identifying different materials
•Support supplier deliveries loading and unloading
•Ensuring the shop floor is clean and tidy
Once trained in these roles the right candidate will learn to cover all activities that support machining and assembling.

Requirements

• It would be desirable if you have a drivers license and able to drive, but this is not essential
• Computer literate
• Good communicator
• It would be desirable to have some experience working within the furniture/manufacturing industry, but this is not essential.
• Must be reliable and trustworthy
• Willingness to learn, work on own initiative and within a team

Additional Info

20 days annual leave, plus additional Statutory days.
We shall supply work wear after successful completion of trial period.
We are a small business of approximately 30 staff, so will provide all on the job training/mentoring.
