Progress Housing

Progress Housing recently held their Staff Awards with one of the categories being Apprentice of the Year. The Apprentice of the Year award recognises an apprentice working within the Group who has shown a positive attitude and willingness to embrace their role for the benefit of the Group’s customers and service delivery. NLTG apprentices, Paige and Rebecca, both won the award.

Paige works in the Supporting Living Administration Team at Progress Housing. She was enrolled onto her Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship in October 2018. Below are her nominations:

“Since Paige started working with the Supported Living Team she has gone out of her way to help both teams, always fitting in tasks and never missing a deadline.  She has gone from strength to strength and has become an invaluable member of the team.  Her confidence with customers has grown and she always finds the answer and follows queries through.  Her friendly bubbly manner and can do attitude has enabled both teams to feel they can ask Paige anytime for help and she’ll step up to the mark.  She has been a welcome addition to the department.”

“It is often forgotten that Paige is an apprentice as she is prepared to do any task that is thrown at her.  She is very competent and never moans about the workload.  She gets on and carries tasks out and they are always completed to a high standard.  She is a credit to our team.”

“Paige has made a real difference to the Supporting Living Administration Team, helping to keep everything running smoothly, especially when we have been short staffed.  She has been quick to learn the systems and has become a valued member of staff.”

Rebecca was also enrolled onto her Level 2 Business Administration Apprenticeship in October 2018 and is a Customer Services & Housing Apprentice at Progress Housing. Below are her nominations:

“Rebecca is hardworking, quick to learn and will always help where needed in order to provide the best service for our customers. She has a fantastic attitude to both her work and learning and a great team player.”

“I have recently worked in the same office as Rebecca at Jubilee House. Rebecca was brought in to assist on the admin of supported Living to help out with work load. Watching Rebecca she has risen to the challenge and picked up the job to a good standard with very little training. Rebecca has also been very keen to help out within Jubilee House, answering the reception phone and dealing with customers calling into the office. Answering the calls and dealing with the customers that have dropped into Jubilee has meant that Rebecca has dealt with situations from departments that she has no experience in, when this has happened Rebecca has not passed it over she has asked the relevant questions, got the correct answers and then dealt with the customer. It is clear that Rebecca has a passion for learning new skills and is enthusiastic about developing a career within housing.”

“Rebecca is a pleasure to work with. She is keen and hardworking and her skills have developed so much over the past 6 – 9 months. She is an asset to PHG!”

“Since starting as a Housing Apprentice Rebecca has worked in Progress Connect, Supported Living and is now in Neighbourhoods. Whilst in Progress Connect she spent time with all of the teams and was enthusiastic in her approach – she worked on a number of projects and compiled useful process guides for staff to use. It has been an absolute pleasure to see Rebecca’s confidence grow day by day – she is an absolute pleasure to work with. In Supported Living Rebecca helped us to manage a number of admin tasks, such as Integra Orders and inputting new tenancy details.  Rebecca was always willing to help with adhoc tasks too, for example helping with large mail outs. She has a great attitude and was a real team player who was always willing to learn anything new to help the team. Rebecca has shown great interest and ownership of the tasks she has been given.  As she has progressed well we have been able to give her some project work that there hasn’t been any resource for previously but will add lots of value to the team and our customers.  She embraces the ethos of an Apprenticeship in that she has the opportunity to make the role her own and gain valuable experience in different areas of the business so is always keen to learn more.  Her confidence has grown and she works well with others and has been able to teach existing staff a few things too! Since starting in October 2018 Becki has gained extensive knowledge of the departments that she has been working in and is rapidly becoming an invaluable source of knowledge for more established members of staff! Becki has embraced the challenge and is proving to be a confident member of staff.”
