The Greenhouse People Ltd, the largest manufacturer of greenhouses in Europe, is a family owned and run business, manufacturing and retailing garden and leisure buildings throughout the UK and Europe. We specialise in aluminium and cedar-wood greenhouses which are manufactured to an exceptionally high standard at our factory in Stoke-on-Trent, ST11 9RD.

You will be working in our Alton department learning to make our Alton branded cedar-wood greenhouses and garden buildings and will work towards a Level 2 qualification in Wood Product Manufacturing. As part of your two-year apprenticeship, you will learn to:
• Read and interpret technical drawings
• Use IT to manage works orders and stock control .
• Work with team members to ensure efficient production flow.
• Quality control
• Set up and run machines- table saw , drop saw , cross cut , speed sanders and nail guns
• Set up and use assembly jigs

You will be:

• physically fit – the role is physically demanding. The post holder will be on their feet all day and needs to be able to lift and manipulate parts

• qualified to grade 4 or above in both English and maths

• a basic starting pay of £5.50 per hour with periodic increases based on performance
