Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Learn how to remove fabric and staples from existing furniture.
• Learn how to prepare furniture for upholstery, this will include stuffing the items with new foam.
• Learn how to check and glue frames.
• Learn how to stain and wax woodwork.
• Learn how to fill cushion interiors.
• Learn how to upholster furniture such as headboards, flat seats, sofa and chairs.
• Learn how to cut fabric for application.
• Learn how to pattern match fabric.
• Sweeping the workshop floor.
• Taking receipt of deliveries.
• Storing fabric and foam deliveries.
• Stock checking supplies.
• Maintaining a clean and safe workshop at all times.
• Making the workshop team their hot drinks at break times.
• Uploading photos to social media account.
• Greeting customers when they walk into the showroom.
• Answering the telephone where necessary.

Requirements

• Physically fit and able to perform heavy lifting tasks.
• Respectful, takes care of business vehicles, goods and customer property.
• A positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to be flexible and to use your initiative at times.
• Ability to work fast and under pressure to meet production demands.
• Must be a team player.
• A keen eye for detail and accuracy in all work with the ability to produce good quality work.

No formal qualifications required.

20 days plus Bank Holidays.
Parking on site.
