Description

• The apprentice will be responsible for cutting specified material components by hand or by machine, with the use of the templates or set measurements.
• Prepare the components for assembly, selecting the materials
• Plan, measure and calculate material usage ensuring waste minimalization
• Quality checking the materials for quality issues
• Responsible for dealing with quality issues and providing re-cuts as requested by the production team
• In order to keep the process running smoothly, the apprentice with supervision will maintain specialist machines and equipment, for example changing blades and chains, sharpening shears and blades. An eye for detail and able to distinguish between colours and patterns.
• Full training to be provided.

Requirements

The role will require flexibility of working hours to deal with seasonal workload, there will periodically be early starts and late finishes and occasional weekend hours
• You may spend a lot of your time standing while operating machinery or sitting at a workstation or a production line.
• You’ll wear a company uniform which will be provided.
• Standard hours typically 39 per week. Half an hour for lunch and two 15min breaks AM and PM
• Progress internally.
• The company is keen to invest and develop this member of staff into a key employee within the business.

Holidays 20 days per year plus Bank holidays – Pro-Rata (Some to be reserved for Christmas period and Spring shut down)
