Emily is a Customer Service Practitioner at Health and Fitness Education (HFE), a fitness industry training provider. Her job role consists of a range of duties, such as administration tasks, processing bookings, answering the phones, communicating with tutors and students and receiving and sending course and exam packs.

Knowing that the classroom environment wasn’t for her, Emily came across NLTG and decided to undertake an Apprenticeship. She was offered an interview at HFE, where her manager suggested completing a Traineeship programme first to see if she liked the job and for him to see if she was a good fit for the company.

Emily sailed through the Traineeship programme and was taken on as a full-time apprentice. Since starting her Apprenticeship, Emily feels like she’s learnt an immense amount of new skills, including IT skills, time management, telephone techniques, all while growing accustomed to adult working life. She loves the calm, friendly environment at HFE and her favourite part about working there is the making new friends in her colleagues as well as communicating with the students over the phone.

Emily said, “If you’re considering doing an Apprenticeship, just do it! I would also recommend the Traineeship programme first as it gives you the opportunity to trial the place of work before making a commitment to the Apprenticeship.”
