Hours of Duty: 37 flexible working hours in accordance with the needs of the service. Required to undertake study according to the requirements of the training. There may be the requirement to undertake some work outside of normal office hours including evening and weekend working up to max of 1 weekend in 4 based on needs of the Service.
Starting Salary:
Apprentices who undertake a higher or degree apprenticeship (level 4 – 7) are paid Grade 2 SCP 3-4 £22,737 - £23,114 for the contract length (22 month contract)

Description

Apprenticeship role duties:
Working closely with partnership organisations and our local communities the Broadfield Park Slopes project will develop a vision for how the listed green space can be transformed from a derelict area which people are too nervous to visit into a vibrant and safe public outdoor space.

The project will:
• Reveal history through community archaeological investigations.
• Share stories through interpretation and engagement.
• Develop learning programmes that will engage young people with the heritage of the slopes.
• Restore and reveal historic structures.
• Forge partnerships with neighbours who currently suffer the consequences of a derelict site with anti-social behaviour.
• Give partners a space they will use as a community asset
• Give our local communities ownership of the project.
• Restore the bio-diverse natural environment
• Create equality of access to the main areas on the slopes.
• Develop a set of proposals and innovative management regime.
This is a crucial two year full-time Environmental Management apprentice post that will support the delivery of the project.
The post will provide:
• Project coordination and administration.
• Coordination and implementation of project activities.
• Delivery and ongoing development of the management and maintenance plan.

Requirements

• Willing and able to undertake work outside of normal office hours including evening and weekend working up to max of 1 weekend in 4 based on Service needs.
• Willing and able to undertake practical, physical work on-site as required
• Experience of using computers to be able to produce letters and other documents to a high standard plus use of e-mail and spreadsheets.
• Experience of working with people outside a school environment (work / social)
• Leadership skills: ability to take a lead role and assume responsibility for delivery key targets
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of audiences.
• Working under your own initiative
• Organisational skills including prioritising workload / working to time-scales

Educational Requirements

• GCSE Maths and English at minimum Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent
• A Levels or Level 3 qualifications
