The role will be based specifically within the Management School (LUMS).

Description

The role holder will provide administrative support to the Operations Manager and Central School Programme teams that include: Undergraduate Office, Postgraduate and Doctoral Offices, Post-Experience Programmes team, Partnerships and Global Experience team and Teaching Quality Assurance and Enhancement. Based within the Management School and reporting to the Operations Manager the Operations Assistant will undertake administrative processes for specified programmes of work that seek to enhance student experience and teaching and learning within the Management School.

You will work as an Operations Assistant and will be required to complete a 1.5 - 2 year (duration is determined by the age of the apprentice) training programme that will cover all aspects of the role. As an apprentice at Lancaster University you will have the opportunity to gain practical work experience and training. You will work alongside experienced colleagues learning on the job as well as completing a level 3 apprenticeship in Business Administration. Successful completion of these studies is an essential requirement of this apprenticeship.

Major Duties:

Teaching Quality Assurance and Enhancement

•Monitor and triage enquiries in the LUMS QA inbox
•Monitor CAIT for new and amended course proposals
•Keep records for regulatory purposes and for management information and prepare reports as required by the TQAEM
•Service committees and meetings; co-ordinate agendas and papers and take minutes.
•Carry out own responsibilities and co-ordinate input from others aiming to ensure programmes of work keep on track and meet its objectives.
•Contribute ideas and offer suggestions to develop quality and assurance processes within an ethos of continuous improvement.
•Comply with University and LUMS policies and regulations
•Monitor and update the External Examiner Register, Adjunct Faculty Register and Minor Change Log.

Undergraduate Office
•Supporting the Director for UG Student Experience and the Academic Tutors to deliver an effective and robust Academic Tutor System.
•Assisting with the organisation and delivery of events and initiatives relating to student experience.
•Working across all Business and Management programmes to oversee student engagement and liaising with colleagues, Academic Tutors, and Programme Directors where issues are identified.
•Assisting Academic Tutors with reference requests for Business and Management students.
•Managing the Student Representative recruitment process for all Business and Management programmes.
•Coordinating and servicing the Student/Staff Committees and liaising with Student Representatives and relevant PS/Academic Staff
•Supporting the Director for Student Experience and Undergraduate Manager in preparing and rolling out the annual NSS campaign.
•Supporting the wider Business and Management Office Team at peak times, such as Welcome Week/start of term, Enrolment, and during exam/Exam Board periods.

Student Experience

•Working with line manager, and central school management team to share best practice across departments within the School relating to student experience and retention.
•Work to support administration relating to the implementation of action plans relating to the student experience and student journey within LUMS.

General
•Support the Postgraduate, Doctoral and Post Experience programme and Partnerships teams during peak workloads
•Administrative tasks relating to the submission of audit and accreditation materials for AMBA, EQUIS, AACSB, ESFA and OFSTED
•Any other duties appropriate to grade as required
