Description

• Support the day-to-day running of the school kitchen, assisting in the preparation of meals.
• Will contribute to the overall ethos/work/aims of the school.
• Will work under supervision and on occasion under own initiative, working to the priorities set by the Catering Manager.
• To participate in in-school training and other training programmes as required and maintain personal and professional development in order to meet the changing demands of the post.
• Be vigilant and sensitive to any child protection/safeguarding concerns that arise, reporting any concerns to the designated officer in line with school policy and procedure.
• Will assist with food preparation under supervision.
• Will assist with the unloading and putting away of deliveries.
• Will clean and put away kitchen equipment as directed.
• Will assist on the service points when required.
Will assist with the setting up and clearing of the dining hall at the beginning and end of service when required, for example staff absence.
• Will treat all users of the school with courtesy and consideration, maintaining effective relationships.
• Will contribute to the performance of the team, ensuring that a customer focused service is provided.
• Will maintain and operate everyday equipment with care and in accordance with established procedures, reporting faulty equipment, perceived hazards & other maintenance requirements to appropriate person.
• Will undertake special cleaning programmes during school closure or other designated periods in compliance with the specification for the premises.
• To actively promote the equalities and diversity agenda in the workplace and in service delivery.
• To attend and participate in meetings and training within the school as required.
• To work flexibly and undertake other duties of an equivalent nature that may be required by the head of the department from time to time.
• Will prepare refreshments and clear away as directed.
