Mike England Timber Company Ltd was established in 1969 by John and Margery Hardman. The company takes its name from their good friend and next door neighbour, former Welsh Footballer and Manager Mike England, who is probably most remembered as being the centre-half for local team Blackburn Rovers and also Tottenham Hotspur, during his playing career in the late 1950’s through to the mid 1970’s.

From its humble beginnings as a family run business in Preston – Lancashire, Mike England Timber Company has grown significantly over the last 50 years. Today the company has shaped itself as one of the UK’s leading independent timber suppliers. Working within the woodworking mill, shadowing a qualified machinist and tool setter.

Duties will include:
• Setting up machines to specific profiles
• Operating the machines
• Feeding timber into the machine, profiling and planning of specific profiles
• Looking at works orders and following instructions
• Quality control of material
• Measuring material to ensure it's the correct size
• Adhering to strict H&S Regulations
• Good housekeeping, making sure works stations are clean
• Working closely with other team members
• Making sure that Job Cards are accurate

Grade 5/C in Maths and English.
