The Fabrication of Glass Supporting Structures qualification is suitable for Aluminium Fabricators, Conservatory Fabricators, Framemaker/Window & Door Makers and Curtain Wall Fabricators.

You’ll be involved in the production of glass supporting structures such as windows and door frames, curtain walls, conservatory roofing for a range of residential, commercial and public properties. You’ll process materials, apply relevant coatings and treatments, and create frames. You may also be involved in using CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery to process frame parts, working from either computer designs or technical drawings.

Entry Requirments

You will need English and maths at GCSE Grade E / 2, or equivalent qualifications (eg Entry Level 3). If you do not have English or maths at this level, we will invite you to take a Skills Scan to check your current level of skill.

Assessment

• Practical observation in your workplace plus evidence of your skills and knowledge such as witness testimonies or training records.
