The level 3 Wood Machining Apprenticeship requires the candidate to possess or acquire the competencies and knowledge of the more complex wood machining tasks (on traditional machines and CNC) brought about by the production of bespoke products or infrequent procedures requiring particular thought and planning and the use of guides, jigs, templates etc. The qualification also requires a knowledge of workflow planning to maximise output whilst controlling cost, safety and quality.

Entry Requirments

You will need English and maths at GCSE Grade D/3 or above, or equivalent qualifications (eg Functional Skills at Level 1). If you do not have English or maths at this level, we will invite you to take a Skills Scan to check your current level of skill.

Assessment

• Portfolio of work.
• Technical certificate and two tests.
• ERR and PLTS booklets.

Progression

After completing the Level 3 Apprenticeship, you can progress onto further study in the Furniture Occupations sector or even a qualification in management.
