The aim of this Bench Joinery Apprenticeship is to provide the opportunity for individuals who specialise in joinery to demonstrate their competence. It has been designed to develop and recognise your skills, knowledge, understanding and competence so you can work in Bench Joinery within the construction industry or progress to further training. As part of the Diploma, you will gain knowledge in three core subject areas: Health, Safety and Welfare, Technical Information, Quantities and Communication, Construction Industry and Built Environment. You will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in: Setting up and operating woodworking machinery to create curved work, manufacturing shaped joinery products and setting up and marking out for shaped joinery products.

Entry Requirments

You will need English and maths at GCSE Grade D/3 or above, or equivalent qualifications (eg Functional Skills at Level 1). If you do not have English or maths at this level, we will invite you to take a Skills Scan to check your current level of skill.
