Case Study – Ben Parkinson

Traineeship at Pennine Labels

Name: Ben Parkinson
Company: Pennine Labels
Job Role: Digital Marketer

Ben is a Digital Marketing Apprentice at Pennine Labels, a Lancashire based company who specialise in fabric labels.

He’s not the first apprentice at the company either. Ben is following in the footsteps of former NLTG apprentice, Adam, who also started his career as a Digital Marketing Apprentice with NLTG.

When we asked why Ben decided to do an apprenticeship, he said: “I was scrolling through the gov.uk website when I came across the digital marketing apprenticeship with Pennine Labels. It caught my eye, so I applied.”

“My current role is in the digital marketing team. I work with social media, communicate with potential customers, work on online adverts and promotions and I also work on marketing campaigns which is really fun.”

It’s not just digital marketing skills Ben has learnt on the job. He has also worked on his communication skills and how to organise and manage his workload in the workplace.

He said: “The thing I’ve enjoyed most about my Apprenticeship is learning new skills. I love learning in detail about new things, so I’ve really got stuck into researching a wide range of topics in digital marketing.

“My future goals are to complete my Level 3 Digital Marketing Apprenticeship and to complete other LEAP (Learning, Employability and Progression) qualifications with NLTG. I really enjoy doing extra LEAP skills as they help me with my skills for the workplace which I can apply to the future.”

Since Pennine Labels has a history of success with apprentices, Ben is in the right place to kick start his marketing career and progress within the industry.
