Course Overview

As an Apprentice studying the Catering and Hospitality Adult Apprenticeship you will advance your skills and knowledge of the industry while you work. The Adult Apprenticeship can be undertaken alongside your current job. If you are currently unemployed then you can apply for our Apprenticeship vacancies.

The Catering and Hospitality Adult Apprenticeship involves following a comprehensive programme which offers training in a variety of skills. Hotels, public houses, coffee shops, shopping centres and restaurants especially all need catering staff. Apprentices often specialise in one area. These areas include restaurants and bars, food preparation and cooking or on reception.

Depending on which area you choose to specialise in, your Catering and Hospitality Adult Apprenticeship will cover the use of equipment, correct techniques for preparing food, serving food and drink and dealing with customers. Due to the nature of the industry you will need to be prepared to work to high standards of hygiene. You also may be expected to wear a uniform. Flexibility is a must as you will be required to work unusual shifts and probably evenings and weekends as well. Working as part of a team is also important part of the Apprenticeship.
