We employ a fantastic team of professional people who are constantly undertaking training and development. This includes Apprenticeship Tutors, English and Maths Tutors, Study Programme and Traineeship Tutors and Tutors who deliver our courses to support Lancashire job seekers; all supported by our highly trained support teams. We are committed to the continuous improvement of our services and are dedicated to total learner and employer satisfaction, with the emphasis on individuals and their needs. Our aim is to make a real difference to every learner’s life and every employer’s business. We can source apprentices for employers or train existing members of an employer’s team. We deliver Apprenticeships at Levels 2 to 5 in a wide variety of areas including: Furniture Occupations, Business Administration, IT Digital Support, Customer Service, Marketing, Catering & Hospitality, Lean Manufacturing, Warehousing, Team Leading, Operations Management and Project Management. NLTG also offers Traineeships and our popular Study Programme courses. These exciting programmes are tailored to suit the needs of young people aged 16-18 who are not yet ready, or able to directly enter employment, an Apprenticeship or other further education alternative. Our courses for Lancashire job seekers have assisted many people in returning to the world of work and creating a better life for themselves. At NLTG we also offer a range of short courses and services for business. Courses include: Health & Safety, Emergency First Aid, Food Safety and Allergens Management. Our services include: specialist training for the Furniture industry such as wood machine training; PAT Testing; Fire Risk Assessments; Noise Assessments; Face Fit Testing; and Dust Sampling, to name a few. Due to an increase in staff a larger premise was needed. The Tramway public house was purchased and converted to offices. We moved in during 1985.
Pam Mallabourn joined the group as a Training Officer on 1st January 1981.
After looking at several premises, it was decided to offer £7000 for 85 Whalley Road.
Outward Bound courses started for the best 12 Apprentices and it was to be an annual event.
Jim Harkness starts as the new Group Training Officer on the 1st January 1973 on an 18 month contract.
North East Lancs Training Group was formed and funded by the furniture and timber training board. First executive meeting was held and hired the first Training Officer.
