NLTG win six Gold Medals at National Awards

Another successful year for North Lancs Training Group regarding Medals for Excellence 2008/09, gold medal winners. The Medals for Excellence programme recognises and rewards exceptional people whose work really makes them stand out.
Eight nominations were forwarded to City & Guilds and we successfully achieved six Medals for Excellence and two Highly Commended Certificates. Gold medal winners were Katie Brennan of Wheatley Plastics, Stockport; Katie Louise Watson of Buy the House Estate Agents, Accrington; Jordon Woods of Bell Micro, Haslingden; James Rankin of Northern Hi-Tec, Lancaster; Claire Harrison (National Apprentice of the Year) of Dales Pharmaceuticals, Skipton and Sandra Kay of North Lancs Training Group for the Lecturer and Trainer award. Highly commended certificates were awarded to Donna Coleman of North Lancs Training Group - Lecturer and Trainer award and Stephen Miller of H&S Joinery, Blackburn - Certificate for Joinery.
The Regional Award ceremony took place at Haydock Park on 27th February 2009, where all winners received their gold medals and certificates, followed by an Oscar-style award ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, Hyde Park, London.
The continued success of our learners and Lecturers and Trainers achievements is down to the dedication and support of employers, Training Officers and Management team. City & Guilds issued 1.5 million certificates in the 2008/2009 period and there were only 78 Gold Medals issued across all occupational sectors and 20 issued for Lecturers and Trainers across the whole of the United Kingdom
