Mark Farrell Wins Prestigious Lion Award

Mark Farrell, from a company called I Want One Of Those, won the category, Outstanding Achiever of the Year. This award was won because within 6 months of working at IWOOT, he was promoted to Warehouse Manager; replacing 2 senior managers. From there he streamlined every department making the warehouse more profitable and the staff happier.
His Director recognised Mark's hard work and achievements by promoting him to Operations Manager in overall charge of the storage and distribution centre, all within 12 months of him being there.
Because of Mark's streamlining and replacing senior managers, he helped save the company approximately a half a million pounds (2008-2009) in operational costs. This is a substantial amount of money for any company and probably meant the difference between the company making a profit or closing, making a lot of people redundant.
Because of Mark's high standard of work on his NVQ together with his drive and ambition, not to mention the money he has saved the company, we felt Mark deserved some recognition for his achievements which is why we put him forward for the award.
Mark is still only 27 years of age which makes his achievements even more astonishing.
