Warehousing

Britain's logistics industry needs intelligent, highly motivated people who are keen to carve out a career for themselves within the sector.

A Warehouse Apprenticeship offers you the opportunity to gain valuable skills in the role of a warehouse specialist who is involved in organising the handling, storage, packing and movement of goods, in and out of the warehouse. To do this job well, individuals need to be highly organised and ready to take responsibility.

Apprenticeships in England and Wales are available at two levels: Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship. These qualifications are highly regarded in the industry and demonstrate competence to perform the job role effectively. In addition, an Apprenticeship can be used as a stepping-stone to an Advanced Apprenticeship.

If you think you have the potential to develop the qualities needed for any of these demanding and responsible jobs, this could be what you're looking for.

Once you and your employer have decide on the route you wish to take, then one of our experienced Training Officers will make an appointment to see you and your employer to do an initial assessment, to see what type and level of Apprenticeship would be best suited to your needs; this will then form an ‘Individual Learning Plan' to guide you through your qualification.

If required, you will also be able to update your literacy and numeracy skills with our Skills for Life and Key Skills programmes.

All our Training Officers are committed to you as the learner, giving you support where you need it most.

If you need help finding a job vacancy with warehousing, and you are 16 to 18, you can always contact our recruitment centre.

(Remember, if you are 16 to 25 and are new to NVQs, or over 25* and have never done an NVQ before, it's FREE!)

• To be eligible for Train 2 Gain, you must be employed under a contract of employment, do not hold 5 GCSE grades at A - C (or CSE grade 1), an NVQ 2 or equivalent, an academic qualification at A level or above and are not already on a Government funded programme.

Attention employers out there

Apprenticeships are not only free for most of your staff, they are also an excellent motivator for all and show what type of employer you are; contact us for more information.
