General Manufacturing

Performing Manufacturing Operations

The Apprenticeship in Manufacturing offers young people a clear structure for entry and progression into a manufacturing career; demonstrating equality and opportunity in terms of access to, treatment in and outcomes from, all activities relating to the Apprenticeship programme.

The framework is designed for operators and assemblers working on a wide range of manufacturing processes.

An Apprenticeship benefits both the apprentice and the employer.

For the Apprentice:

• It provides training towards the achievement of an NVQ level 2 in Performing Manufacturing Operations

· It also provides training in two key areas - Communication, Application of Number

For the Employer:

• It provides a programme of training, highly relevant to the development of the appropriate skills and abilities of their employees

• It also provides flexibility to specify additions to the 'core' programme requirements, tailored to meet the needs of their business.

If you think you have the potential to develop the qualities needed for any of these demanding and responsible jobs this could be what you're looking for.

Once you and your employer have decide on the route you wish to take, then one of our experienced Training Officers will make an appointment to see you and your employer to do an initial assessment, to see what type and level of Apprenticeship would be best suited to your needs; this will then form an ‘Individual Learning Plan' to guide you through your qualification.

If required, you will also be able to update your literacy and numeracy skills with our Skills for Life and Key Skills programmes.

All our Training Officers are committed to you as the learner, giving you support where you need it most.

If you need help finding a job vacancy with logistics, and you are 16 to 18, you can always contact our recruitment centre.

(Remember, if you are 16 to 25 and are new to NVQs, or over 25* and have never done an NVQ before, it's FREE!)

• To be eligible for Train 2 Gain, you must be employed under a contract of employment, do not hold 5 GCSE grades at A - C (or CSE grade 1), an NVQ 2 or equivalent, an academic qualification at A level or above and are not already on a Government funded programme.

Attention employers out there

Apprenticeships are not only free for most of your staff, they are also an excellent motivator for all and show what type of employer you are; contact us for more information.
