Case Study - Shaun's Story

Shaun Calderbank has been working at Landis and Gyr, Stockport, for over 6 years, as a machine operator/assembly operative. In the past couple of years he has achieved Level 1 and Level 2 Essential Skills Numeracy and Level 2 Essential Skills Literacy with the support of his Skills for Life Trainer, Steve Shenton.

Recently, due to his skill and dedication, as well as the commitment shown in gaining qualifications, he has achieved promotion to the position of Designate Examiner. This is a highly responsible position and shows what can be achieved when there is a will to succeed.

Shaun says, “I have gained confidence to achieve my goals by gaining new qualifications and skills. I am enjoying developing my career further.”
